Dots of the gods!
I will start with a paragraph:
My friends, there is a secret world of codes that rests beneath our soles. Look upon the sidewalk! My quiet neighborhood has been visited by an arcane hieroglyphic artist. Look MR & MRS T! Look MR & MRS VERNAL! & Look ALL who care to visit the sidewalks of our neighborhood to see the WHITE DOTS! These white dots - all the size of a Ritz cracker - adorn our grandfatherly sidewalks for miles! I know, for I have run these many walkways! What ARE they? I will let you in on a secret observation: They have been here for two YEARS!!! What do these painted daubs mean? If you think I'm being flip - go out in front of your quiet houses and look for yourself!

Well so much for mowing....now I've got to go for a walk and actually look at what I'm walking on?! You know we're going to walk your way! Run, run Dar, run! OKAY I'm glad I thought to myself....check with Little T she notices obscure things like this. So, she confirms that she "thinks" she's seen them. I can honestly say that doesn't mean a whole lot...to "think" you've seen something, but good enough for me, cuz I really got to mow. Yippee. I'll try to keep this in mind when I do venture out again. In fact I'll probably think of you and Mrs. Dar everytime I walk on the sidewalk now (is that sweet or creepy?!) In honor of you trying to write in paragraphs, I am going to post my comments to you in one solid form. So you can find solace in the lack of spaces.

the rains came down and the mower stayed in the shed. the rains came down and the mower stayed in the shed. the rains came down and the mower stayed in the shed and i did not go on a walk (yet.) 0 for 2, but the kids and I are having fun. Apparently I ran over some other strawberries the last time I mowed, so they were showing me where they all are. Do strawberries really spead out that much? we had one plant and now....according to them, we have a whole "garden." Didn't I know?! I guess I did not. Next time don't plant green stuff in my kinda green yard! Still trying to honor the one paragraph thing, but it's a lot harder than it looks!
Yes, strawberries grow like wild flowers...and come back year after year! In Alaska, they grew especially well with the 24-hr daylight! Rhubarb did well in Alaska too, but it thrived in the shade.
Boy, I am hungry now for strawberry-rhubarb pie with homemade vanilla ice cream! :-)

My guess is that it is either bird droppings, white paint to mark some future project or the water pipe lines, or flowers?
Golden and I actually went for a walk to check this out. All I can say, is if you know what they are, fess up. If you're just curious....then speaking for myself and not Golden, I wasn't impressed--so I leave you with.....

I am glad that I learned about strawberries though!
I saw you guys walking and yelled at you - but not loud enough - there were cars behind me! My idea is that the dots were put there a couple of years ago by summer workers who were told to mark the cracked or unsettled portions - then nothing was done about it. The dots stretch all the way past 95th street... Oh well, now what the heck do I blog about. uh.. mullberries!
I posted my impressions of the dots on the mulberry post since Jadee asked about it on that post. I didn't know what the deal was with the dots? but now I do.
